Diesel and Mechanical Technology Department
The Diesel and Mechanical Technology department introduces students to careers related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of equipment used by the agriculture industry. Topics will include safety, outdoor power equipment, woodworking, electrical systems and diagnostics, cold metal work and welding technology, concrete, gasoline and diesel engine principles, and hydraulics. Students choosing to major in Diesel and Mechanical Technology are prepared to further their education or enter into the workforce.
Industry professionals from throughout the community serve as members of NCAHS’ Diesel and Mechanical Technology General Advisory Committee.
 
Animal and Marine Sciences Department

The main goal of the Animal and Marine Science Program is to prepare students for work and/or college in the fields of Animal and Marine Science. NCAHS courses are clustered so that each student has the opportunity to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to work and/or continue their studies in the following fields:Canine Science, Equine Science, Farm and Livestock Management, Marine Science, Research Animal Technology, and Veterinary Science.

Environmental Sciences Department
Students majoring in the Environmental Science program will participate in environmental studies, and conduct in-depth laboratory and field studies. Career pathways in this program are immense. Students will be prepared to continue their education or enter the workforce in a variety of environmental fields and capacities such as water quality specialists, environmental scientists and engineers, community and state officials, and other environmental organizations to investigate real-world environmental issues.
Industry professionals associated with this industry from throughout the community serve as members of NCAHS’ Environmental Science General Advisory Committee.
 
Horticulture Department
The Horticulture Program provides students with a strong foundation of skills for a variety of career paths within landscaping, ornamental horticulture and arboriculture. Students who choose to major in Horticulture are prepared to continue their education or enter into the workforce. Students are offered a varied curriculum that explores careers, presents technical and botanical knowledge and develops an awareness and appreciation of our natural resources.
Horticulture industry professionals from throughout the community serve as members of NCAHS’ Horticulture General Advisory Committee.
